Check to see that one of the pads isn't installed backwards....i.e., that the back of the pad is up against the rotor... don't laugh... it happens!

Check all the things that Greg said.

Black e coated rotors? That's how they sound when new. Bed the pads in and they will be fine.

Pads are in correctly....and you are right, it could happen Thanks for your input...

Yes, Black e-coated rotors, am I glad to hear your response...... I was in panic mode. I'm trying to get the car done for the Car Craft Nationals this weekend and this had me pretty worried.....

Any obvious scarring or marks? I'd check that fully before saying it's just the ecoat. Glad that is a potential cause. Just dont wanna see brake failure rushing to make an event.

Amen to that! Took the car out with my tuner and after a few heat cycles on the brakes, the noise disappeared.
