71 Fenders
Nice score on the 71 fenders! Decent ones are very hard to find! Ask me how I know... still wish my car had the functional 71-only fender vents...

Yes, Brian hooked me up! I'm going to remove the factory vents and mill-out something like the vents on a Cobra S/C that will sit flush on the fender.
We got the taillights scanned yesterday!
If anyone wants a dimensionally perfect scan file of an OEM factory lamp housing let me know. For now, the scan will be turned into a Solidworks file so I can do my thing, I think the results will be awesome!
I was test fitting all the trim on the nose, I scored some perfect 1972 grills and Classic Industries finally sent me the correct headlamp surrounds.

Anvil makes a great nose for these cars!!!
Tonight I'm going to be firing up the crucible, I've got some pieces to cast up. Tomorrow the garage gets cleaned out, including the 'Bird, so the garage can get some updates!

This is going to be cool since you have easy access to some great equipment. Good luck!

I'm a low priority in the shop when the rent-paying stuff is being worked on. We have seen a lot of awesome prototype stuff from all kinds of industries lately and all of it is hush-hush so I'll just say... MAN! There are some cool things coming soon in the automotive aftermarket, the pistol market, and the healthcare fields!
As for my little project, the scans are getting cleaned-up and ready for Solidworks rendering! I'm going to have these ready by new years and I have 8 other pieces I'll be making for the Firebird on our equipment.

(I accidentally photographed some secret stuff)
Fortunately I am a paying customer in the shop so my engine will get all it's machining... one day! As for the car, fall is coming so I'm wrapping up all the outside home projects, the car is in it's winter home, and the garage is getting it's upgrades as we type. The only thing I'm doing this winter (which forecasts say will be brutal) is these small parts, making some molds, and saving some cash for some big purchases in the spring!

I guess it's time for my annual update!
I haven't posted much because I haven't done much on the car, life has thrown me a couple of curve-balls. They're GOOD curve-balls, but still curve-balls!
The "project garage" has become a project on its own. It turns out the coughing I would come in the house with after working in there wasn't due to dust, I had a water leak that caused mold behind the wall in a corner. It's been fixed, new sheetrock is going in, and I'm adding a small industrial air cleaner to the garage too.
I've also started work on another BIG project that popped-up and while it will draw my attention from Redemption for a while it will end-up being a big positive for my car too! I hate being all secretive but for this one there is a good reason and when I can, I will reveal it right here on Lat-G!!!
