Default Finally Got To Drive It!

Nothing too important here...

I just decided to take the day off to get to the tech inspection center and get this over with (out of state inspection grand finale, since i changed the 2 lower balljoints on the 'vert as they requested when i went the first time after buying the car).

I realise i did a good move selling the coupe project...I have a hard time just replacing 2 b-joints and scheduling an appointment to pass an inspection!!!

Anyway, i was not going to do it today...(even tough i meant to do it the whole week) 'Figured it woul be sunny on monday (forecasted rain today). So when i got up, i told my wife she would drop the kids to daycare today (Usually me) and that i would leave later this morning. But when i started making coffee i came across my trailer while looking out....

TOO LATE, plans of the day had just changed. I cancelled 2 meetings and for the two job start ups i had to do....I did what any good manager would have done; Delegated!!!

I emptied my trailer, hooked it up to my truck, put the wheels back on the Camaro and tied it town on the trailer. I left for the tech center and didn't look back!

Once there, i asked to see the same guy that had done the prior inspection as i had a good talk with him and he was into cars...(Good!)

I didn't even have to unload the car. At first, he wanted me to, but i guess my face spelled the fact that to see two balljoints it was a bit to ask. He finally changed his mind, looked under the car, signed the papers and applied the conformity sticker.

I then went straight to the DMV offices to register the car and paid for my plate. Then home i decided it was time to eat (hadn't eaten and going on 1.30) i was starting to shake so i figured i'd eat then take the car off the trailer.

You guessed it right. As i sat down, it began to rain HARD and it still is (8pm) but that didn't dampen my spirit! I crawled under there, unlocked the binders, rolled it down from there and went for a ride around the block!

Man it felt good! Tomorrow, sun is supposed to be there for the whole day...
I still have my garage exterior to finish over the w-e. But you can be sure i'll go for a real drive!

Thanks for reading...I needed to scream this out!

Oh yeah, on my way back i stopped at the local Speed shop i usually do business with and we spoke about scheduling installation of my mini tubs and frame connectors in a few weeks.

I really want to do it myself, but i think it might be a good idea to get help if i want to see this thru someday. AND I WANT TO!!!

More to come soon!

Default UPDATE...Finally.

Scott,

Thanks man. I didn't want to reply before i had a little burn out video (that I'm still wanting to do) to show you how it went.

My camera was full when i came back home and my wife didn't want to go and empty it. (It went fairly well for a 63 000 miles car) but its gonna need some refreshing!

I'm taking the car to the shop this week end. (aluminum body mounts, frame connectors (DSE) and custom tubs (to be able to drop the car to my liking).

I bought a complete C6-Z06 brake set up yesterday and its coming in. I spoke with Tobin at Kore3 this morning and he has what i need to mount these. As soon as he checks for the brake lines and rear brakets, its another order. I really look forward to replacing my 14" wheels with 14" brakes!!!

Also, new cowl hood is in and installed (still black)

I have decided on Forgeline ZX3's (Gunmetal or Black) in 19x8.5 and 20x12 (or 13...i'll see when i can fit the tire in the hole... :-) Frank (Prodigy) says 12 is best and he has done a few, so, 12" might be it. (Its just i have not seen a 345-20 on a 13" rim...)

I'll get a vid on saturday when loading the car up.

Hey,does this work?

Thanks guy's.

Payton, the wheels make the car in my mind....Glad you like 'em. Its been hard to decide! There are so many models to choose from.

I really think Gunmetal could be it. Depending on car color.

Car...well i'm thinking triple black with a canvas top and white hockey stripe (black and white interior) Gunmetal wheels. red calipers need to be reminded troughout design but i haven't found where

I also tought Blue (Lemans style) with same top, black interior, black hockey stripe...and the black wheels. (need to recoat calipers!)

Ah so many decisions!

At least, moving ahead.

Lead.
