Is too much exposure bad?

Magazines, although many are owned by the same company, are all independant products competing with eachother for newsstand and ad sales. They all want to have something unique to make them different from the others. If a car appears in mag X, it may by passed over by competing titles, even though the car may be completely deserving of mega-coverage.

I recall an example when a certain yellow Camaro built by a certain member of the Pro Touring community was featured on 5 or 6 covers in the same month... it seemed every editor was pulling his hair out because the car was "everywhere".

Imagine if you built your dream car and 5 other people built the same car - exactly the same car - and you all showed up at the same show. It's kind of similar in the magazine world. They all want to stand out.
