Jason, I'll be putting the LS7 article back online this weekend.
I know what you're saying about going with the LS7 for reliabilty reasons. The C6ZO6 has a 7k redline, runs mid to low 11's and has a factory warranty. Extremely amazing, really.
Have you considered something like a 402 LS2? There are lots of combinations available for LS motors, and the L92 heads are the real deal.
I haven't looked into any of the LS2 set-ups. I did all my research, pertaining to LS1s, before my wife got pregnant and I lost my job. Now that I'm back on my feet, doing a job I enjoy now , I have moved the car back to the reality list. So you can say I've been out of the loop for about 16 months.
