Marty,

Your camaro will look cool with either width. Use the narrower ones for going to the mountain-bike trails, and the wider tires for showing your car, like at Columbus!

I agree I really like the 295 but the current trend is the 335 or 345 or even the new 405. But you know me I am not a trendy person. I am still wearing blue jeans and a T-Shirt every day

To do the math it goes like this
265 mm x .35 = 92.75 mm sidewall
295 mm x .35 = 103.25 mm sidewall
275 mm x .35 = 96.25 mm sidewall

but a 265/40 would be 265 mm x .4 = 106mm

So if you are maxed out on width go to a taller profile in the front then the rear. The profile number is just a percentage to the bigger the difference in width from front to rear the bigger the profile change needs to be. It is a pet peeve of mine to not have the same profile unless you trying for a big a little tire combo. If we were running a 335 rear tire and a 275 front tire the math would look like this.

335 mm x .30 = 100.5
275 mm x .35 = 96.25
275 mm x .40 = 110.00
or
285 mm x .35 = 99.75

Hopefully this info is slightly helpful. I have to work up tire combos all the time and it can be tough to get a perfect matched set as far as profile, compound, width and matching tread pattern.
295s are plenty big imho!

And I like the taller sidewall, but I guess I'm a little more old school than some... 255/45/18s front and 295/40/18s rear.

2nd Chance Camaro - Making Room for the Edelbrock Headers

2012 09-25 Update - Making Room for the Edelbrock Headers
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Evening All,

To keep things simple I wanted off the shelf headers so I ordered up a set of Edlebrock shorty headers for a 2010 Camaro. Very nice
piece I may order a set for my 2010 Bumble Bee.

We needed to add a little extra clearance so the guys at High Speed Welding notched the frame to clear one of the tubes on the passenger
side. The good news is the drivers side fit perfectly.

A close up of the motor mount stands welded to the stock subframe. I also used the Edelbrock set back plates so I could use the stock style
motor mounts.

Looking down you see that the collector hits the subframe so a little more work is needed on the passenger side to make the header
work.

One of the reason for the shorty headers is ground clearance. Since the car will be sitting 6" off the ground the exhaust needs to tuck
up tight to the floor. There is only 4" of space between the floor and the bottom of the subframe thus there is no true way to hide
the exhaust unless you run a down-pipe style exhaust.

If you poke around on tire rack's website, you can find the specifications section for each individual tire maker's tires. There they will list actual widths and heights. The numbers on the tires are as accurate and clothing sizes. The only down side is it has to be a brand they sell.

I also say left
