The new set up is MUCH better. It scoops around in front of the radiator, and sits at the very front of the bumper.

I initially bought the AEM UEGO Lambda controller, but the thing was a nightmare when it came to compadability. It wouldn't communicate with my MoTeC. I tried to get some help from AEM tech, and they were rude and ignorant. Traded a friend for the Innovate LC-1. The Lambda tuning has gine MUCH better now.

Tuning is getting very simple now.

The car is in the shop getting the turbo rebuilt. I smoked the oil seal while racing a late model C4 vette. I pulled on the Vette both pulls!!!

STORY HERE

I am also getting a check valve inserted in the methanol system. The old set up was syphoning methanol right outta the tank. Pics soon.

Turbo or NA?

These cars are fun to drive. I've owned 3 of them, all three were second gen T2s.

It's been a long road, but racing that c4 vette made it all worth the wait. Now I can actually see and feel what I've been spending so much time and money on.

What project are you currently working on ?

1988 SE NA, 1987 GXL NA

Sold the GXL for 2x what I paid for it. Blew an apex seal in the 88 after 3 years of teenage driving abuse. Had ambitions of putting a V8 in but that never happend.

I currently have an 89' Trans Am with a ProCharger that runs 11's at the dragstrip - with a 305 TPI motor.

looks pretty hairy. That's a good looking year. There is a guy locally with a NA 7. Its got an LS motor in it.

I may be meeting up with him in the next few weeks.

Anyway, good looking project. Can't wait to get mine on the track!

Here is the NEW TURBO!! Garrett T04E 57. .6 AR compressor; 1.24 AR turbine.

Tial 38mm wastegate; 9psi spring (for now). Open Dump...

Turblown tubular manifold; Polydyn coating. 3" intake, NO INTERCOOLER. Just water/methanol; still needs to be 'perfected'. But working well.

3.5" Turblown downpipe, still needs to be coated.

At Full boost, I saw a top engine temp of 150* F. And that was with JUST WATER.

MoTeC auto-adjusted based of the Lambda map, but I had to go in a tweak the base fuel map. Pretty easy.
