I have to secure the base cabinets together, install the toe kicks, install the door handle hardware, secure the countertops, and finish the baseboard trim and a few other small pieces of trim and the project is about done.
For the cabinets, I called up Steve Lenning and had Dakota Kitchen make some basic all black cabinets. The insides are solid white and they are made out of 3/4" and are rock solid. I couldn't be happier with them. When I went out to pick them up, Steve gave me the full tour of the facility and it's first class all the way. It's extremely impressive.
The countertops are basic off the shelf units from a big box home improvement store. Nothing fancy and were pretty cheap, but I have to cut them to length. They are a black marble and look pretty good I think. Solid black would have been better, but would have cost at least 3 times as much. lol So this will do just fine.
Thanks Greg. But I think it will be the opposite, I will do more in the shop as it will be a lot nicer to spend time in there. It's soooooo much better than before.
I'm with Greg, you won't get to do anything in there except detail the car and drink beer ! Maybe watch some shows on that big TV too !! Besides, you'll be out driving that bad boy all the time and never in that man cave anyway.
Very nice !!
Any thoughts on how to fill up that other bay yet ?
Looks Awesome Scott, bet I know where you'll be all weekend!! Shoulda brought those tops over with you and we could have cut them to length for you. You will also need to put some build up strips under the tops to hold them up for the doors to clear. But I'll bet you already figured that out! Thanks again for the business and any questions be sure and give me a call.
