What can I do to fit 275's on the front of a 1970 Nova(same as 1rst gen camaro) stock frame? Pics, backspacing, notch frame, anything will help! Can it work? Is it worth it? I just installed the Dse coilover conversion if that makes a difference. Thanks.
Pick up a set of used c5 Corvette rear wheels/tires, which are 9.5" wide, with a 275's. Remove studs from hub, and use bolts with a stack of washers to moch up the wheel to the correct backspacing you need. You only need two or three bolts for moch up.
I'm thinking you'll need around 6" of backspacing. The vette wheels have 7.6" of bs, so you'll need at least 1.5" of washers. With that much bs, I'm not sure if they'd hit the control arms or tie rods at that point.
At this point, you can see if you want to notch the frame or not.
I used this method when moching up my wheels for fitment. Nothing works better then an actual tire/wheel IMO.
to add to the above, you'll likely have to limit the turning radius unless you modify the subframe. That size tire combo will definitely hit the frame before full lock so some sort of steering stop and getting used to 3+ point turns into parking spaces will be needed.
