Hey everybody. I have a 1980 Firebird Esprit. I've owned the car for thirteen years. It had the origianl 3.8 liter Bufford engine still in it. I have since replaced it with a '73 400 Pontiac, and recently got it running again after a three year slumber. It currently sports the 2-bbl, and looks like hell, but at the moment I just want to get it back on the road.
This winter I will be adding new wheels and tires, although I'm still undecided on which ones. I will also be lowering it to give it an attitude adjustment. Eventually a suspension rebuild will be in order, as well as a brake upgrade... but that is aways off.
I will also be installing a Performer intake and carb (I haven't decided on the Q-Jet or double pumper, both of which are on the bench ready to go). Valve train components will wait until next winter when I'll pull the engine to freshen it up. That's just not in the budget at the moment.
Basically the goal of the car is a fun street car that I will sometimes hit the drag strp with and occasionally an open track day at Pacific Raceway.
