Default Olympic Gold 69 Camaro Track Monster

When I purchased my Z28, it came with a 396 that someone dropped in at some point and had swapped out for the 302. I was unhappy with the performance and figured I would bite the bullet and do it right.

Call it Pro Touring Trans Am

After spending weeks researching and shopping around local engine builders, crate builders and whatnot, I ultimately decided on the zz502 simply because its a great base for me to build upon. I wanted streetable performance, and not to piss off the neighbors too badly Keeping the M22...

Car in question:

Its currently in the shop getting the following done.

Engine Swap
Rebuild Gear Box
Window Roller Repair
Front Suspension rework
New Clutch
Replace Throwout Bearing
Rebuild Ujoints
Driveshaft Loop
New Horns
Slotted front Brakes/ New pads

Parts I've ordered so far:

Modo Innovations Pedal Covers
QA1 Coilovers with Adjusting tools
Aluminum Radiator with Dual Fans
Hotchkis Sway Bar
Replacement Window Crank Kit
Rosewood Steering Wheel Kit
Replacement Rear View Mirror
Moroso Solid Motor Mounts
Lokar Midnight Throttle Pedal
Lokar Throttle Cable Duo Pack
Driveshaft Safety Loop

Like a bomb exploded

Waiting on the muncie to come back from rebuild, the radiator and a few more small things and should be ready to rock. Maybe 2 weeks?

Can't wait to get the car back and hit the dyno. I think I'll be needing to upgrade my wheels/tires pretty soon as well. I have a feeling I'm going to be burning through these 255's pretty quickly

I'm thinking 17s with a 275 in the rear. I'd like to avoid minitubbing if I can. I really like the traditional minilite look:

The LT-III's in 17s look pretty damn good as well too. Anyone know this car?

I'll keep everyone posted. Looking forward to summer with some more power

Cars coming back together. 502 is in, front suspension/brakes, rebuilt m22, rebuilt ujoints, driveshaft loop. Should have it running later in the week hopefully

Reworking all the window tracks/hardware, swapping out the steering wheel for a Rosewood repop, and putting on modo innovations pedals. Lokar throttle cable setup as well, with pedal assembly.

some new pix from lunch today. Ordered a new chrome alternator to match everything. I'm concerned about the clutch I put in though. Its a RAM clutch rated for 450hp.

The car will mainly see street use, and with 255s in back, I can't imagine traction being possible, I'll see how it holds up I guess.

I'd like to eventually slap some slicks on it and see what its capable of at the track, but the clutch and 12 bolt are the weak links currently.

I'm also trying to decide what type of electric fan setup to go with. Would a single electric fan + the standard blade fan be sufficient or should I bite the bullet and buy a real nice aluminum shroud dual fan setup.

Ive always liked seeing your car here. Looks like a real car that can be driven.

Cant wait to hear what your impressions are of the 502
