LS engine coil relocation and V covers

I am looking to relocate the coils and trying to get ideas on whats out there in the line of valve covers. Anyone have any ideas or pictures?

Relocated the coils as shown in the pictures on this build. I ran the plug wires below the exhaust ports to the plugs between the headers and engine block. The wires where still very short and with the engine fully assembled the coils where easly overlooked. This was before v-covers where easly available so we smoothed the stock units.

this is my plan.. thanks for the pic. I've got the valve covers that chevrolet on them.. no pics right now, they are at powder coater.

that is the nicest cleanest way to do it. I could not do that on mine because the engine is set back 1.5" further than normal, and there wasn't room on the passenger side between the head and firewall.

I ended up moving mine under the motor.

I aquire my LS-1 valve covers from WegnerMotorsports.com

They have Billet covers without/with coil location mounts.

They have two heights to allow for the required clearance for optional rocker arm fitting.

This is NOT and "advertisement" only a service for users.

Jody- that looks awesome- I Just might copy that- did you make the brackets or is there a kit

I made the brackets/spacers for that setup. Started with this:



Then added this. A couple right angle braces off the pan studs hold this in place.



Then added one additional brace from the bellhousing and ended up with this; it is very solid, can't move it at all.

the other option is to make the simple all-thread and spacer setup in the first pic, and then simple brackets off the studs to holes in the back of the heads like DSE did. I would do this first if there's room on your install. Got this simple idea from Tony (Nineball) at LS1Tech.
