Thumbs up Wheelie competition

This is a cool video to watch, but I just can't help but wonder what kind of shape these classic bodies will be in after repeated violent launches like this

I love the Gremlin at the end

Most of those guys are there year after year for it though. The radical Redskin Firebird put it on noth its sides two years ago I believe.

I believe for next year there is a 25k purse to be able to put a car on its roof.

Yeah, I'm sure it can get expensive.

I did one wild wheelie with my ProStock Opel Kadett once.

This image is from that lanunch, it just stood almost straight up, I saw the sky instead of the strip and lifted the throttle. Damn what a hard hit it was when it landed. Young and enthusiastic I hammered it and continued down the strip. No thoughts about any damaged frontsuspension or so. It was OK, nothing was broken.

awsum video, got be hard on oil pans. I saw one last year at local track walk it 300 ft then he let off and when it slammed the track the head lights , grille and year tail lights fell out and busted. It almost went over backwards, he was running 572 big block and hit all 350 shot of bottle at once off the line.
