One of, if not, THE coolest hot rods is going across the block at Mecum Indy. I gotta start working more overtime. I love this car.

I spent a couple hours one year looking at that car. It's incredible. The engine detail alone with the fuel lines, linkage, and brackets is all pure art.

Very cool. I'll be sure to check it out. My dad has a car going through that auction later the same day.

Wow, that car is smooth. Funny how a seemingly simple car like those early Fords can end up having so much cool detail in a subtle way from the right builder. The front control arms pic look awesome and it appears to have inboard coil overs = very cool. Perfect interior, nice and clean. Sweet car.

Doane was a man before his time, with talent we all wish we had! SoCal Speed Shop did a great job building this roadster, in honor of Doane!

That car deserves to be properly flogged.....wish I could afford it.

For those that don't know, Doane's first roadster was pro-touring long before there was pro-touring. The car was built for the PanAmerican race but it got canceled before the car was done in the early 50s. Here is a quick read with some history about Doane, his hot rodding philosophy, and his first roadster.
