Default recommendations for F1 at COTA?

I'm thinking about going this year. I know a number of people from Lat-G went last year, so I'm looking for suggestions. Where to stay/best seats (is GA adequate)/any other tips. I'd be flying from California so I assume renting a car would be mandatory although it looks as if they run a shuttle service to the race track. Did anyone go all three days? I've never been to Austin either so I'd like to allow enough time to get around the town a bit.
Thanks,
Dave

If you sit high enough in section 25 of turn 15, you can nearly see the whole track. We sat there for aussie super cars this year

And go to the Salt Lick.

We stayed in the bustling town of Buda. Walmart and Cabela's next door for your hunting or ammo needs. Definitely a long shuttle or cab ride. Renting a car is strongly advised.

And if you meet up with any locals to go eat BBQ... don't let them take you here:

You can go here but only if you went to the Salt Lick the night before.

Rumor has it an umbrella, shade hat, sunscreen, and water will serve you well.
