i took the fenders out when restoring my car. i also cut the fenders so all the bolting holes are gone.
i like the look, but maybe i am getting too scrared now about firewall damages by debris. what you think, is there any smart way to install a small inner fender to protect the new paint. maybe fibeglass. something either very nice or very small. NOT the ugly original shape.
any custom fenders you know of ?

Your car looks just amazing
The BBS LEMANS is perfect. Must be one of the radest wheels you can put on a muscle car.
I consider using Rial Daytona Race wheels myself (similar to the BBS wheel) on my Camaro -68.
Keep up the good work
Ya- what Scott said...Given your nice new paint...I wouldn't drive the car at all without the inner fenders (or something) in there, you WILL get damage ...everywhere. Our 69 Chevelle drag car had no inners when we got it and man, the fenders were just trashed from the inside out.
I have seen guys take the original metal inners and section them to remove/smooth out the various random stiffening bumps, grooves, etc, fill up all the holes, etc. When all done, they look pretty nice...
You could also do all of the smoothing to the metal inners and then use them to make a mold, and make yourself some fiberglass ones...or carbon fiber if you are feeling a real zest for adventure!
