Default Excited about exhaust

I have been unhappy with the exhaust on the Impala since the day I picked it up. The previous owner had installed a brand new exhaust system with 5 inch thick flowmaster SUV mufflers under it. Needless to say, the exhaust was hanging way too low under the car and is VERY visable from a side profile.

To solve this problem, obviously the 5 inch thick mufflers have to go. I decided to scrap the rest of the system as well, and have 'my' exhaust guy bend me up a custom system. A quick call to flowmaster to see if they had a 3" thick muffler that had the correct inlet/outlet configuration. No luck. After a quick phone negotaition with the sales guy, and "Bada-Bing" they agreed to make me a 1 off set of mufflers to my specifications!

I am just pumped. I will have the very first set in existance, and they will also create a part number in their catalog!!!! I'll post some pics when they come in, and I get the system bent up!!!

Note: This thread is not meant to be a 'plug' for any particular muffler or company, just excited about my exhaust. Please delete if needed.

Wow, very cool. Kudos to Flowmaster for going the extra step.

I'm looking forward to checking it out this summer.

Awesome. I guess they have not forgot the little guy. Just curious what configuration did you need that they didn't offer?

I truly do take my hat off to them for going the extra step and not forgetting about the little guy.

I asked them to make a 3 inch tall 50 series delta flow with an offset inlet, and the same side offset outlet. They did not offer the inlet/outlet configuration I wanted in the slim case

Here is a pic (4 inches thick):

That's the same one I need for my Mustang. 4 inches thick is too big and nobody made a dual offset one that would fit. Awesome deal, I will be in for 2 when they come out.

Frankenstang, feel free to PM me and I will give you all of the info that I used to order them (including the phone # and sales contact). They will have to be made in their custom shop until they assign a part number.
