I haven't posted much about my 85 LSx Corvette project here...as frankly, I don't expect it to interest many guys. It is after all, just a 85 Vette with 91-96 Vette panels. I am trying to do it right though, and make sure it is fast, reliable, and fun to look under the hood.
Long story short, I have been invited by the editor of a major Corvette magazine to carivan to Carlisle this August...and be a feature car on the LSx swap. However, I must document and FINISH the car first.

Then go to the bottom of that page and see the LSx page.
Okay, money and time are both tight, but I did fab the frame to accept a LSx motor and A4. My plan is now to yank the entire engine/trans and computer from the 69 Camaro (LS1, SLP stage III heads/cam, LS6 intake, 36#, 3,900 TCI stall, Transgo, stock displacement - ran 12.5 @ 111) and dunk it in the Vette. Once I get a wire harness and hook up hoses, a/c lines...etc, it is golden. I can then focus on getting the paint and body complete.
What about the Camaro...you might ask????
Good question. Right now I am thinking about building a STOCK LS1 and then fitting with a pair of small turbos. This is territory I have been wanting to reach, but I am out of my league there. Budget is my middle name, so it would all be on the cheap. I am satisfied with the current N/A power, so if I made right at or a tad more there supercharged on a stock LS1....I would be thrilled.
That's my update for now!
Oh...mods on the 85:
1. SLP stage III LS1 (coming to an engine bay in this car soon)
2. Shaved clean firewall (as much as possible)
3. Freaking cold a/c
4. Vette Brakes & Products complete suspension upgrades
5. C5 brakes & treated slotted rotors
6. C6 gunmetal rims
7. 94 Seats
8. Jet black paint
9. Quiet exhaust
10. keyless...radio stuff...blah, blah blah....
The big trick is trying to get the old Atari digital dash to talk to the LS1.
I am painting the firewall this week and plan on yanking the LS1 from the 69 next weekend. Going to try to speed this up as I have a 3rd shoulder surgery scheduled March 27...which will knock me on my butt for six weeks or more.
