There's no way that cage is an out the door, finished product from Wayne. No way. Something is fishy here. It looks to me like a 'proof of concept' excersize or something quickly put together to keep the body held together when the floor was cut out or something tacked in so the car could be transported.

Are you being honest with us, Tyler? You already made up a story at the start of this thread, is this just more of the same?

Scott Trust me this was a completed product, All of the unwelded sections were in area that were inaccesible. The big gap was on the front roll cage down bars. When we started on this project Tyler and I had no idea it would get to this point. From our experience of fixing other peoples crap it seems like these guy were manufacturing guys, not one off fabricators. There were many more issues that were not right that go with the poor roll cage design. The wheel base was off by about .375 of an inch, it is really noticible in a 67-68 due to the round fenderwell openings. Figuring out the wheelbase on this should be pretty easy 107 = Camaro, 104.5 = C5 vette, if I lengthen the torque tube 3.5" we should be on the dot, not 3.125. There was alot of craziness going on with the floor, being double paneled for no apprent reason. We had to cut the torque tube hoops out of the car to be able to remove the torque tube, there was no way to get it out to replace the clutch. When we cut the hoops out the frame srung about .5 of an inch. The lower suspnsion cradles were about .375 -.5 of an inch off from square. It got so bad I called Tyler and told him I had started tube chassis deal laying around, that I would put up to just stop the madness.

So hopefully later today you will see the results of just starting over.

With your fabrication, Rodger, it's going to be badass! Looking forward to updates.

Well so far Erik has done all the fab, He does alot of our tube bending and rolling work. He did the rollcage in Rich's Camaro, and alot of work on Mick's wedge sectioned chevelle chassis.

That guy must have a sixth sense about spring back. Anything I see him bend just lands perfectly!

I'm so happy to see this project on the right track. Tyler deserves it.

Seems like alot of long term projects are moving along or finished this year.

Scott's 69
Larry's 68
Anthony's 68
Ned's cuda
Now Tyler's 50-50

I am sure I am missing a few more too.

I'm still on basic math. 2+3=5 or 104.5+3.5=108 yeah I don't have that many fingers and toes. I guess I could have had all the guys in my shop take there shoes off but it is cold the morning, like 45 degrees.

Thanks
