QA1 SBC coilovers on my 69 Camaro with an LS6. The wheels are 18" (yes this USED to be Tom Izzo's car ). How do you like the STechs? Better than GW?

Ryan,

When we did the orange Camaro, we lowered it almost as far as you could go on the coilovers. When you hit a big bump, the tires rubbed on the inner fenders and rubbed off the powdercoating. We raised it back up a little but if we had a slightly different offset on the wheels (to the inside) I`m sure it would clear. The inner fender tapers somewhat and thats where it rubbed. One thing I should mention is that when it was lowered all the way, you don't have much travel left and the bump stops only have about 1in of travel.It looks cool, but the ride is not so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the replies,

Well here is my plan: I'll see how low I can go with the SBC springs in there, and once I get 100% of the weight in and actually drive it, let it settle, I'll see where I am at then.

I am having a discussion with Tyler of ATS about the AFX spindle over at www.ls1tech.com it looks like it could be my solution if I can't get it to sit right. Pretty nice parts. And will work with my C5 brake parts.

As far as the speedtech stuff, I guess it's pretty good. He is local to me so I bought the parts because of ease and the price was pretty good. I must say he's a nightmare to deal with for technical and service, and I'm not too impressed about his spring recommendation. I assume GW is much better in this area.

I have yet to actually drive the car, it is at the shop right now getting the suspension finalized, alignment, driveshaft, exhaust, frame connectors done. Then it will actually be driveable and I'll post updated pics and info as soon as it comes back.
