Here's the one in my NOMAD -- I bought BOAT cup holders out of aluminum - the painted part is fiberglass (easy to manipulate and shape) the rest is some steel frame - and wood and bondo ! The stereo faceplate is removable - when you do that - it 'unlocks' the fiberglass top piece and reveals a nice secret hiding spot...

GregWeld is your Nomad console painted or vinyl warped?
LowchevyII Maybe sneak some foot-well lighting in there. I like that look.

and the foot lighting thing, definitely something to think about. always a classy, understated touch for sure.

Thanks for the compliments ---

It's wrapped in little baby naughas... and carpet where you'd kick it... super easy to do - glue and a little heat and stretching....

I went with the curved look - because of the curves in the dash -- so that made it a little more complicated but not much.

Default Console ideas

I've been looking for console ideas also for my 68 Camaro and found a company called Classic Truck Consoles. They make consoles for both cars and trucks. Click on the Customers section on their home page and there's some pics from different types of vehicles. Here's their web addee: http://www.classictruckconsoles.com/index.htm. This might at least give you some ideas. Hope it helps!
