Everthing you said is correct. Inconnel works better for extreme duty like blowers and boats. Blowers due to heat, and boats due to higher RPM/always on...

I am using inconnel exh as well on my blower motor...

Does all the factory LS7 blocks have the provisions to install those squirters? Or is special machining required?

Special machining is required. It wasnt a big deal for mine. Tap threaded hole into oil passage and also provision for locating pin.

i never drove a ls7 but had a few ls6 cars and they were really nice engines.im jellous cause my new camaro build is just a small block to start off.money issues was the culprit on that one.your engine is gonna be sweet.
