Default LS9/ZR-1 3D animated assembly screensaver

Joe made this 3D animation of the assembly of an LS9 for the release of the 2009 ZR1, but was asked by GM to not release it, because they had their own version and marketing plans.

When the Corvette Engine Build Experience started, Joe asked if he could provide a personalized version for each customer. (color, state license plate, name) and they loved the idea. With the success of the CEBE program, he asked if I could share it with the general public.

GM has finally given permission to share the LS9 Engine Assembly and ZR1 Animation / Screensaver.

You can preview it on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4RHWsoORNs

Or download it in your favorite color ZR1 as a screensaver at: http://www.smallblockscreensaver.com

Of course, I had to download the Torch Red version.

The amount of detail in the modeling is fantastic. This has to be the coolest screensaver ever. And it's free.

I had read a blurb in one of my mags a few months back that GM was experimenting with some SOHC and DOHC LSX heads for the C7. It noted that displacement may fall to something like 5 liters in a V8 layout with DOHC heads or something. I'll see if I can find it.

That is very cool, I had to chuckle at 2:10 in the Youtube vid, the oil being poured in, WTF! it looks like used oil!
