What are you going to use to knock that rust off the raw sheet metal?

I know it looks bad, but that rust is barely there. Scotch brute pads knock it right off. I could use some suggestions though bc I'm about to start soon.

What are your plans for the outside of car? I would maybe think about just media blasting the car inside and out then spray car with some SPI epoxy primer. Joe

As for the outside: strip the paint, prime, and paint. Media blasting is definitely an option. I have read all about it, but I have no experience with it. What type of media is best for paint and surface rust?

A couple of more updates.

A view from the top. Steering column firewall mount.

Inside view of column mount

More of the A/C mounts. Easier to see with the dash back out

Detroit Speed windshield wiper motor is mounted. Took a little time but it fits now.

Dakota Digital outboard control module is mounted

Next is the American Autowire kit

I will have more in the next week or so

I us something called Damprid from walmart in the garage to absorb moisture. It comes in what looks like a gallon ice cream pail. Just remove the lid and place around the car. My car has been in bare metal for about 2 yrs and looks good.

With all that FLAT sheet metal -- I'd have it blasted with walnut shells.... otherwise you risk warping.

Sorry -- But I couldn't stand letting really nice work like that get so rusted up. It doesn't have to get like that.
