Turbo Mufflers?

Wow, i have to give a 10 for imagination but here is my question.

Locating your turbos that far from intake leaves a lot of piping to get that pressurized air through before its providing any umf. Wouldn't this setup increase the effects of turbo lag significantly? and would your boost be lower since the exhaust velocity is a bit slower that far back?

I could see them being good for cooling purposes but it seems you would be trading a lot if it lagged the turbos even more since that's the biggest down side of turbos in the first place.

Im far from an expert but that's what it seems would be the result.

Well, I guess it's supposed to function like the STS system. I'm no turbo expert either, but I do know that turbos spool from heat energy. A lot of energy is lost in all that exhaust pipe.

Safe to say it's probably not going in the riddler winner next year. If it works, and the car is fun to drive, then more power to him.

I'm also no turbo expert, but I have been in an STS vette and know that it doesn't feel like there is any turbo lag... according to the STS site (which I realize will be a lot of marketing bs), that the longer intake piping actually allows pressure to remain built up so there is less lag.

Tom Nelson would probably be the one to clear this up though, seeing as he's a turbo expert.

i have to agree there are quiet a few rear mount turbo cars in town and they are bad azz! thats always a question with rear mounts (lag) everyone i have talked to said its not barley there.
