Shelton, is about 30 miles west of olympia when you turn off I-5 at olympia..Shelton used to be the X-mas tree capitol of the world ,and held that title many decades also a huge timber mill town for simpson..In it's heyday it was a very busy and profitable town in the wood and shipping buisness with it's own port. Now it is alot slower like any small town in the wood buis.....Back in the 60's they used to drag race on the backside of the airport, and many a famous west coast racers had raced at shelton..a few years ago they were able to have some nostalgia races they're but that group was never able to ink a deal with the port of shelton so it ended quik, this group came along and bought the property that was directly behind the airport and is the former Wash. State Patrol Training accademy..It came with the roadcourse and the needed land for the drag strip....I am very pumped as I have been motocross riding in that area alot of my life and it is only a 25 mile drive for me and maybe 50-55 miles for jay r and youth pastor !!!

That's AWESOME!! I just found out about this yesterday as they had a headline over at roadracingworld.com. I took a "test drive" over at youtube by watching the animated lap around the track, looks like it's going to be pretty awesome. Now if I can only get the Camaro running i'd like to head over there, not to far from Burien, and like Travmon I use to ride dirt bikes over there as well from time to time. i'll have to keep checking back to watch the progress.
